MTC Week 5 Letter....

Dear Family and Friends-

First things first. Mom, I have obeyed your instructions reguarding the 12 days of Christmas presents to the T, even though I was tempted to open todays last night because of how little time we normally have on Friday mornings. The light is really cool and good at blinding companions, and then running away. :)

Let me share some of my constructions this week. With my first day of Christmas present, the super long garland, I made a Christmas tree on the wall. On the second day, I added the ornaments, which turned out to be all tied together and in funky knots. On the third day, I hung up my stockings, and saved the hot-o choco for a later day. On the fourth day, I had a spicy mexican candy, and then threw it away because it was kindof gross (thanks for the thought tho). Then today, I used my nifty blinder, i mean, light to light the way to the Provo temple at 6:30 in the moooooooornin'. The session was good. As well as the breakfast.

So, this week has been fun. I recieved a package from Auntie Annie and family, in which were some cool/cute/funny letters. I'm glad that Brianna has learned chinese. Its the language of ramen, which I am sure to get plenty of in these next 2 years. And, Krissy (I think it was her, the second oldest?), I'm sorry you have to wear head-gear. I wore some once too, except i made it out of cardboard. And the cookies we're bomb-diggity.

I also got a letter from Rachel about an awesome announcement. The computer wouldn't let me open the application, but I could tell from the link. I am going to have another nephew. WOOT! That is SO cool. I'm really happy for you guys!

I also got letters from Grampa Scott, Mom, and Uncle Steve and fam. I love letters. I  was especially humbled when I found out that Grandpa Scott put my name in the prayer roll in the temple for 2 weeks. Thank you so much. I will make sure those prayers will not go to waste!

We got a new district leader this week, from Elder Jenkins to Elder Hayden. Its all good. It is interesting to see how the Lord works. Elder Jenkins was the leader type, somewhat solumn, but still very much part of the group, and spiritual too. An air of maturity around him. Elder Hayden is a little bit more wild, less "mature", but gets along well with everyone. In my eyes, Elder Hayden was made DL because the Lord saw something that would cause him to grow, and help us all. And I have seen the same trend in all of our companionships. Elder Jenkins got paired up with Elder Nasio, and they have much respect and complement each other well. Elder Hayden is more party, and Elder Grover (who reminds me alot of Josh Ramsey from work, a really rad dude) is much more reserved, so having them together balances out, and causes them to learn another side that they previously had not experienced. Elder Graham was a wrestler and kindof popular, and got paired with Elder Matthews, a tall, lankey Elder with peculiarity and awkward abound, and they have learned to love and accept one another, and grown together, even though they would have been opposites in real life. And then there is me and my companion. Well, thats a story for later.

But I can say this: Being far from home, away from people I really love and care for, I have come to see the true blessing of friendship. I love my friends, and I miss them everyday, just as much my family. I want them to know that. From everyone at Cap's to those I worked with at Scotts work. You made/make my life happy, and I miss you, and love you.

And one last thought. I am not really away from my family for these next 2 years. I am just among another part of my Fathers family, with my brothers and sisters. I hope that I can love them as much as I love you, my friends and family. Well, it is time to go. With love, and 1 minute left,

Elder Hale

Hola hermanos y hermanas de Las Vegas!

I'm drinking reduced fat milk right now. Why? Because they didn't have 2 percent. v.v
This week has gone by good. I don't have my planner with me, so it is gonna be hard to remember what happened, so bear with my rantings. Writing letters on this apparatus kind of stinks because in the end I finish with 2-5 seconds left on the clock, and then end is rushed more than the Eragon movie. :P

So, I am waking up with less songs in my head, which could be good or bad. Lately alot of church hymns and christmas songs. And that was nice, until this morning, when I woke up with Thriller in my head. And it was my temple day today too...Way to feel the spirit with Michael Jackson and zombies. Why won't he just die!!

Doing my laundry right now.

I have a confession to make. A loooong receded habit has resurfaced this week...and it is this: I am making a Christmas tree out of cardboard boxes, masking tape, and green construction paper.  I COULDN'T HELP IT! I must have a decent sized tree for the holidays! It is about 3 feet tall and 1 1/2 feet from corner to corner. It looks sweet. We are going to put lights on it and everything.

So, reguarding that letter I sent, the handwritten one, I am really glad you guys liked it. But some crazy stuff happened afterwards. I sent it, then I got a Dearelder from Mom (which works really well, I get it within a day and I don't use my minutes for writing in reading them) which asked if I was sick. The next day, I developed a cough. I am still sick right now, but better than I was yesterday. I have been taking Dayquil.

Also, in my letter, I asked for letters from the boogities. The next day, I get a package from them, with all those pictures in it. I LOVE MY NEPHEWS and NIECE! Their art is hanging up in my room. And thanks, Scott for yours. How did you know I was missing my paintbrush and masker? We must be brothers. I also got a christmas card from the Stouts. That was cool. They look like they are doing good.

AND I got a reception invitation from the Huletts reguarding Mawissa's mawwige. Mawwige is woh bwings us togethoh today... Except no! Because she sent me an INVITATION. WHILE IM IN THE MTC/ON A MISSION. Why dont they just give me a paper cut and pour some lemon juice in it? just kidding, I am really excited for her. Mom, as a reception gift, please send her a gift wrapped cinderblock, complete with bow.

I bought a beenie, expecting it too keep my head warm. Except that I forgot to calculate in my oversized noggin, so it barely covers my ears. Lol. Thermals would be cool. I really miss not wearing a t-shirt and jeans all the time. I love you guys. Thanks for your letters. I should probably change my laundry. Oh, and I found out that not drinking caffeine is a commandment, not a suggestion or a guideline. A commandment.
 Esta bien.

Alright, I think I am going to skiddadle. I really like Dearelder. I like handwritten letters better, but DearElder is better than regular emails. Its like Handwritten Dearelder Emails. I am sorry you didn't get my letter last week. I'll work harder on that, I promise! I am also going to send you guys my SD card so that you can dl the pics off. I think it will save me money. We are members of Christ's true church, therefore, we are no strangers to love -.

With love,
 -Elder Richard Whitney Hale

PS: Do I really have to ask one more time, Danny?
