MTC Week 5 Letter....

Dear Family and Friends-

First things first. Mom, I have obeyed your instructions reguarding the 12 days of Christmas presents to the T, even though I was tempted to open todays last night because of how little time we normally have on Friday mornings. The light is really cool and good at blinding companions, and then running away. :)

Let me share some of my constructions this week. With my first day of Christmas present, the super long garland, I made a Christmas tree on the wall. On the second day, I added the ornaments, which turned out to be all tied together and in funky knots. On the third day, I hung up my stockings, and saved the hot-o choco for a later day. On the fourth day, I had a spicy mexican candy, and then threw it away because it was kindof gross (thanks for the thought tho). Then today, I used my nifty blinder, i mean, light to light the way to the Provo temple at 6:30 in the moooooooornin'. The session was good. As well as the breakfast.

So, this week has been fun. I recieved a package from Auntie Annie and family, in which were some cool/cute/funny letters. I'm glad that Brianna has learned chinese. Its the language of ramen, which I am sure to get plenty of in these next 2 years. And, Krissy (I think it was her, the second oldest?), I'm sorry you have to wear head-gear. I wore some once too, except i made it out of cardboard. And the cookies we're bomb-diggity.

I also got a letter from Rachel about an awesome announcement. The computer wouldn't let me open the application, but I could tell from the link. I am going to have another nephew. WOOT! That is SO cool. I'm really happy for you guys!

I also got letters from Grampa Scott, Mom, and Uncle Steve and fam. I love letters. I  was especially humbled when I found out that Grandpa Scott put my name in the prayer roll in the temple for 2 weeks. Thank you so much. I will make sure those prayers will not go to waste!

We got a new district leader this week, from Elder Jenkins to Elder Hayden. Its all good. It is interesting to see how the Lord works. Elder Jenkins was the leader type, somewhat solumn, but still very much part of the group, and spiritual too. An air of maturity around him. Elder Hayden is a little bit more wild, less "mature", but gets along well with everyone. In my eyes, Elder Hayden was made DL because the Lord saw something that would cause him to grow, and help us all. And I have seen the same trend in all of our companionships. Elder Jenkins got paired up with Elder Nasio, and they have much respect and complement each other well. Elder Hayden is more party, and Elder Grover (who reminds me alot of Josh Ramsey from work, a really rad dude) is much more reserved, so having them together balances out, and causes them to learn another side that they previously had not experienced. Elder Graham was a wrestler and kindof popular, and got paired with Elder Matthews, a tall, lankey Elder with peculiarity and awkward abound, and they have learned to love and accept one another, and grown together, even though they would have been opposites in real life. And then there is me and my companion. Well, thats a story for later.

But I can say this: Being far from home, away from people I really love and care for, I have come to see the true blessing of friendship. I love my friends, and I miss them everyday, just as much my family. I want them to know that. From everyone at Cap's to those I worked with at Scotts work. You made/make my life happy, and I miss you, and love you.

And one last thought. I am not really away from my family for these next 2 years. I am just among another part of my Fathers family, with my brothers and sisters. I hope that I can love them as much as I love you, my friends and family. Well, it is time to go. With love, and 1 minute left,

Elder Hale

Ps: *cough* Danny *cough*
